Then in early August, I booked into the ” Back to Nambour Festival “ at Quota Park. This was a very colourful festival with lots of entertainment for adults & children and with interactive activities for children of all ages. This was an excellent festival for people buying the bright Nepalese clothing and accessories. The music was marvellous to listen to and kept everyone toe tapping. For me, I was able to renew friendships as well with people I had not seen for a number of years, so it was wonderful all round day.

On the 16th August, I was invited by my good friend Darren who makes Didgeridoos to be part of Beerwah’s Big Garage Sale which is held in the front car park of Australia Zoo. Proceeds from the stalls go to the wildlife hospital, so a very good cause. This was a very early start, the earliest I have even been involved with……..the markets started at 6.00am and finished by 10.30 am and the day was cool and windy. It had most of us holding on to our products as they would blow off the racks, tables or the ground. I had to rescue my felt hairbands, my business cards, and some clothing. Darren graciously shared the stall with me  and his beautiful hand made Didgeridoos, I had a wonderful morning of sales selling a few silk scarves, and some clothing as well as the felt hair accessories and purses. So a big thank you to Darren for his generous offer and opening another market space for me.  If you want to make your own didgeridoo than Darren from Eumundi Didgeridoos is your man, or just buy one of his didge’s – they are fantastic !!……..

I found myself at the Cooran Eco Markets on 7th June, but I had thought I was going to the Pomona Markets but when I arrived at the market site, it was empty ? and feeling confused, I wondered, why that was ???!!!………So I stopped the car at the Pomona park and checked my diary to discover what week-end I was on….and OH! Dear…I had the wrong saturday………so I remembered that the Cooran markets are on the 1st Saturday of the month, so with my loaded car I travelled onto Cooran and hoped that a spare site would be availabe.  I was in luck ! ?  Again! I parked the car, to find who was coordinating the markets, so hang around with the other market people to be given a site.  Anita introduced herself and organised us all to were we could begin to set up for the day of trade. As you can see by the photo it is a beautiful park, it is on a slight slope with large trees & couple fig trees to give lovely shade in the summer season.  My gazebo is under the big tree at the top of the slope.  I had a wonderful day meeting the locals & visitors, and selling my beautiful Nepalese jackets, and the gorgeous felt hair bands & purses, some colourful long sleeved tops, silk scarf which are warm to wear and offer such a variety of colours to any outfit. The Cooran Eco Markets are friendly, relaxed and offer a fun family day out  - they are on every 1st & 3rd Saturday of the month from 8am to 1pm, if weather is very wet then the markets are cancelled. On this day we had a very overcast rainy day with a few showers of rain, which had me running to collect my products out of the rain, so eventually had the clothes rack and table pulled into the centre and had to hang my wool, Pashmina & silk scarves over the frame of the gazebo………..So if you are looking for a drive and a day out then check out the Cooran Eco Markets.

Pomona can be found in the hinterland of Noosa a lovely rural setting with friendly people and eateries for you to indulge and pamper you and your loved ones. This is the famous Pomona Mountain where  the king of the mountain race is held. This mountain is breath taking and dominates the rural area.

This is my market stall at Pomona Markets, these markets are held on the 2nd & 4th Saturday’s of each month. Come browse the colourful cotton clothing, felt, pashmina shawls & scarves, silk scarves and caps, woollen Nepali hats……the markets start at 7am and finish at 12noon ……..

Pomona is situated in the hinterland of Noosa region, this town is also famous for the ‘king of the mountain race’ which is an annual event…….the mountain is magnificant to see as you drive into Pomona. Pomona is a lovely rural town.  So come and visit the markets and my nepalese stall and have a leisurely lunch in a relaxed atmosphere……
